Tomorrow is our 2nd Annual Classy Christmas Party!
AND YOU ARE INVITED!
We’ve got the christmas tree, the mistletoe, the karaoke machine and of course the drinks
We learned A LOT last year about throwing a party…let’s just say we had 3/4 of a keg leftover…and food A L L over our floor. I got up at 7 a.m. to vacuum.
So this year…
No Keg.
Instead, our fridge will be stocked with one of the best beers made and distributed in central PA–Lion’s Head. It’s a pretty classy beer at a very classy price–$11.48 for a case.
No Food.
Last year we made mini star shaped cakes, cookies and puppy chow for our guests and it went over REALLY well, but guess what? It’s not NECESSARY. We will, however, have our favorite drinking snack “Party Mix” *find it at Target, it’s made by Market Pantry and it is yummy!* I’m sure we will make cookies and such as well—we are lovely hostesses who can’t help ourselves in the baking department.
Along side our cases of Lion’s Head in the fridge we will have many a jello shot. Only Red and Green, of course. We didn’t make enough last year, they were a hit. I carry them around on a tray. That’s my job. I am not a fan of those suckers– a bad experience at “Laris-A-Palooza” (jello shots + jaeger = rough night).
We will also have vodka, rum, vodka and more vodka. Last year we made a jungle juice but we are going to make a “Holiday Drink” this year, a little upgrade if you will. Every party should have a signature drink, that will be ours.
The bar will also be open for vodka tonics and rum and coke. I think I might pick up some Peppermint Schnapps for Peppermint Patty shots, a holiday treat. Ever done one?
Step 1: Squeeze some Hershey’s chocolate syrup into your mouth.
Step 2: Follow with a shot of peppermint scnhapps.
Step 3: Don’t go overboard with those suckers, I can’t imagine a peppermint schnapps and chocolate syrup hangover. Gross.
And don’t worry its not all drinking at this shin-dig. We will also have an excellent mix of music (not all Christmas Carols). Did I ever mention we have a karaoke machine? Well, it is probably one of the best ideas we have ever had. I found a Christmas Karaoke CD at good ol’ Walmart, this should be interesting.
There is also a dress code for our party: Dress Up. The only requirement is that you have to look really nice. We like to surround ourselves with some pretty classy people. Here is the loophole: you can rock a corny Christmas sweater, that is the only out if you absolutely HATE dressing up. Weirdos…who doesn’t like looking absolutely fabulous?!
I am wearing a black stretch satin dress from Cache—I LOVE IT. It is very Scarlett Johansson. I can’t wait! You might even get some pics of the event since it is our last one in APT 134. So sad. I am old.
Any other party suggestions?! I would love to hear them!
My suggestion is – Can I come?
Can’t wait Can’t wait Can’t wait!!!! We have GOT to do some party-preppin’ tonight miss Beachyyyy
Baaaad experience with PP shots. shudder.
I will have to see if I can find Lions Head in Massachusetts…. I’ll give a toast in long-distance celebration for a great event. We used to have a group that we required getting dressed up… Called it the ‘Christmas Soire”. But alas, all of us have scattered to the winds…
Brings back some good memories. Have a great time. It’s probably too late, but nothing beats a great yankee swap.
=P
Sounds like a sweet time!
I wish ANYTHING like that happened around here;
and we just stick to Keystone Light, or anything comparable to water for that matter, haha.
I SO remember having a classy Christmas part my senior year of college. We lived in a dorm with real plaster moldings and fireplaces, so it really worked, too. Mostly.
hope you guys had a great party. PP shots are the best!!
I can’t wai to see pics – I know you’ll look gorgeous!!
